Drive through testing commences at tennis club

UPDATE, 12:15pm Chris n Dis Bakery in Stawell is the latest business to be caught by COVID-19, with the bakery’s Main St store closed for at least two days. “(The) shop is closed today and tomorrow due to a positive COVID-19 case who was in our store on Friday 8 October 2.00-2.15pm,” the store said in a statement on social media. “We are a tier 2 exposure site. Staff have been tested and are awaiting their results. “If staff tests all come back negative the shop hopefully should be open Monday. Our highway shop is open normal hours. On Thursday, Stawell Regional Health has announced it would conduct drive through testing at the hospital site on Friday morning until 10am on Thursday, before moving to the Stawell Tennis Club site. Halls Gap General Store has become the latest business to close as a precaution awaiting DHHS instructions. “We have not been contacted by (the) Department of Health. Once they contact us we’ll follow official instructions,” they said. “At this stage all our staff are getting tested and will isolate until their results are known. “We will update our trading hours once we know more.” “Stay safe and be kind to each other, we are all in this together!” MORE NEWS: The General Store is not currently listed as an exposure site, however on Thursday, it was announced that a number of businesses across Stawell and Halls Gap have been identified as tier one exposure sites. The businesses that have temporarily closed all noted it was done out as a precaution to keep the community safe. The guidelines for a Tier 2 site are as follows:

  • Anyone who has visited a Tier 2 exposure site during times listed should urgently get a COVID-19 test and isolate until they receive a negative result.
  • Continue to monitor for symptoms, get tested again if symptoms appear.
  • You should also fill out the self-assessment form
