The Stawell 13 and Under Football Association has been forced to call time on their 2021 season after the latest Victorian Government COVID restrictions. In an announcement to social media, the association confirmed there will be no winners declared in 2021. “It is with great sadness and disappointment that the Stawell 13 and under committee have now received official advice from AFL Victoria that we will be unable to return to play community sport this season, therefore unfortunately no winners will be declared for season 2021,” they said. READ MORE: “On behalf of the Committee, thank you to every person who has been involved in the 2021 season for your commitment, dedication and continued support for our great little club. “We will be back bigger, better and stronger next year and we look forward to hopefully playing an uninterrupted season.” The association was holding out hope of capping off their season with grand final in 2021, but this will not be possible. During the tricky season, the Association has played eight of an intended 12 rounds with the semi-finals also in the books. Unfortunately Victoria entered lockdown before the grand final could be played, with the Bulldogs and the Hawks unable to have their chance to play for glory.
